Areas of Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee’s Work

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee regards his book For Love of the Real as a completion of over twenty-five years of his writing and teaching, as it draws together many of the threads of his work which began with his 1993 book The Bond with the Beloved. Together with its publication we thought it could be helpful to summarize the different areas of his work, all of which are woven together in this final volume:

Spiritual and Psychological Transformation on the Sufi Path

A series of books and talks that give a detailed exploration of the stages of spiritual and psychological transformation experienced on the Sufi path, with a particular focus on the use of dreamwork as inner guidance on the journey. This series of books also includes the author's autobiography, The Face Before I Was Born, as an example of a lived experience of the heart's journey.

A final series of books and talks that explore the emerging subject of Spiritual Ecology, a spiritual response to our present ecological crisis. The first book in this series describes the importance of the re-emergence of the feminine and the need to understand her spiritual nature. The book, Darkening of the Light, is a more personal series of visions that begin with the potential for an awakening of the world and the heart of the world, but then takes us into the darkness of our growing ecocide, and what this means for the soul of the world. The most recent book in the series, Spiritual Ecology: 10 Practices to Reawaken the Sacred in Everyday Lifeoffers inspiring and practical guidance for reconnecting to the sacred in every day life and supports profound changes in how we think about and respond to the ecological crisis of our times.

Spiritual Life: Miracles and Magic
Recorded June 2015 at the Mercy Center, Burlingame, California

Spiritual life opens our eyes to the miraculous, to the wonder and power of divine presence. We can also begin to access the magic of creation, life's natural transformative power. For many the miraculous is something other, and yet for centuries it was understood as an integral part of life and human experience. In this talk, Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee explores the difference between miracles and magic, how to recognize their hidden qualities, and reminds us of this multi-dimensional reality which for some reason has been forgotten.
